Oldschool

When is the last time you used a single-use camera? When did you last looked in the little window and slided the round-like button to get yourself ready for another photo?

Due to my lack of any technical equipment during my travels, the last day of my stay in naples, i bought a single-use camera. I had clearly forgotten how much excitement and joy the process of taking a single photo can bring. when you use a single-use camera and have only 21 photos altogether, you consider carefully each one. You take just one photo of a thing and you hope it is just what you have wanted. You can never be sure that you will have any photos in the end, yet you embrace the possibility of a positive outcome and just hope for the best.

I think that single-use cameras can be a great metaphor for Life. Everything I had lived is stored in my memory forever. My body has changed because of what I have gone through. I do not need any photos to remind me of my Way and how I walked it.

Yet it is just amazing that despite everything- the rain, the super old batteries and the lack of flash- my two single-use cameras gifted me with some amazing, most appreciated photos! Image
